Heart Disease

Heart diseases refer to different forms of heart problems but the most common is the coronary heart disease. It is the narrowing or partial blockage of the blood vessels called coronary arteries which supply blood and oxygen to the heart. Coronary artery disease includes angina, heart attack and heart failure.

Other heart problems can be related to the valves in the heart. The valves of heart keep blood flowing through the heart in the right direction but a variety of conditions can lead to valvular damage like narrowing or leakage of valves. Congenital heart disease is the malformation of the heart’s structure which is present at the time of birth.

Inflammation of the heart muscle, membrane which surrounds the heart and the inner lining of the heart can also occur by some toxic or infectious agents.
